Soto Ayam
This one is my 'Cheat' Soto Ayam
because I used instant Soto Ayam Seasoning.
I did make a Homemade one before.
I think the taste is not too bad with instant seasoning.
Usually we have this with vermicelli,
but I did not add vermicelli in it.
Soto Ayam is originally from Java Island, Indonesia.
I prefer to call it a clear yellow color chicken soup.
You can taste salt, sour, and spices in it.
Nice to have this dish during winter :-)
The Soto Ayam instant seasoning I used
Serve: 2
Ingredients:
1 package of Soto Ayam instant seasoning.
1.5 ltr of water
Hard boiled eggs
4 chicken thighs, skinned, bones on
4 potatoes
1 tomato, cubed
1/2 package of bean sprout
cabbage, shredded
For Garnish:
fried shallots
celery, finely chopped
Sambal oelek
Method:
Put water and chicken thighs in a pot. Bring to boil until chicken cooked.
Shred chicken once cooled.
Boiled potatoes with the skin on.
Once cooked, drained, let it cool, skinned, and cubed.
Bring chicken stock to boil, add bean sprout and cabbage.
Cook for 1 minute, use slotted spoon to take them out.
In a serving bowl, add potato, tomato,
cabbage, bean sprouts, chicken,
pour chicken stock, put eggs,
garnish with celery and fried shallots.
If you like chili, add sambal oelek.
Ready to serve.
