Chicken and Pickled Mustard Soup
This is one of my Mum's recipes. I love all of Her recipes, whenever I cook it, it "takes me back home"
**Miss you a lot Mum**
These are rinsed Pickled/Salted Mustard
in Indonesia we call it Sayur Asin
it made of Sawi Pahit / Mustard Green / Gai Choy
At home, we can buy it fresh but here they come in packages
like in below pictures:
The above are without chili, I did buy few with long red chilis in it.
I like it but not my husband :-) too spicy for him :D
This soup is very easy to make, here is the recipe.
Ingredients:
4 chicken thighs, skinless, bone intact
1 package of pickled mustard
2 litre of water
2 tsp of salt
**For vegan, just replaced chicken with tofu**
Method:
In a pot, put chicken, add 2 litre of water and pickled mustard.
Bring all to boil until chicken cooked.
Once chicken cooked, add 2 tsp of salt.
Mix well, simmer for 1 minute.
Ready to serve with steamed rice.
