Tempe Lemak

Tempe Lemak

I saw this on TV Program called
"A Guide to Food Lovers"
This recipe is actually for LAKSA LEMAK
But I didn't have enough ingredients at that time for Laksa
so I just make Tempe Lemak.

In that show, the restaurant owner didn't mention the measurement for each ingredient.

Here is the ingredients that I made for Tempe Lemak:

1 package of tempe, cubed
3 tbsp of rice bran oil
2 Brown onions, thinly sliced
1 knob of ginger, grated
2 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
1 stalk of lemongrass, bruised
1 tsp of chilli powder
1 tsp of turmeric powder
1 tbsp of curry powder
275 ml (1 small can) of coconut milk
1/2 tsp of salt
 Fried shallots for garnish.

Method:

Heat oil in a pan, sautee onions pureed until soften.
Add garlic, ginger, lemongrass, chili powder, turmeric powder and curry powder.
Mix well until fragrant.
Add coconut milk, tempe and salt.
Lower the heat to low.
Simmer for about 10 minutes.
Switch off the stove, add fried shallots as garnish.

It was delicious!
