Fried / Steam Fish in Sweet Soya Sauce

(Ikan Goreng / Tim Ikan Saus Kecap Manis)

Ingredients:

FISH:
Fish fillet (I use Tasmanian Salmon)
1 tbsp lemon water
1/4 tsp salt
Marinate fish with salt and soak in lemon water for 10-15 minutes, drained.

SAUCE:
1/2 onion, chopped finely
2 large green/red chilli, chopped finely
2 cm ginger, bruised
2 clove garlic, chopped finely
2 tbsp sweet soya sauce
150 ml chicken stock
Salt, if needed

Direction:
- Drained fish, fried until cooked.
- Sautee onion, garlic, ginger, big green/red chilli until cooked.
- Add chicken stock, sweet soya sauce.
- Mix well, taste it, if it need salt.
- Cooked until thickens.
- Pour on top of the fish.

My husband does not really like fried fish, so instead after I add chicken stock and soya sauce, I add the fish until fish cooked and the sauce thickens.

Here is the picture, I managed to take it this time as my husband last night =Tuesday, 20th January 2009= asked for this dish, Steam Fish in Soya Sauce.
