220 gr self raising flour, a pinch of salt, 55gr unsalted butter, 25 gr sugar, 150 ml milk, 1 egg
fillings can be: sultana, chopped prunes, choc chips, etc. as you like :-)
Prepare oven at 220 degree Celcius
Lightly grease baking tray
Mix flour, salt and butter. Add filling, sugar, milk and egg. Stir until it form a soft dough. Turn on floured surface. Knead very gently. Roll out about 2 cms thick. Cut our round (or as you like) and place onto baking tray. Brush top with milk. Into the oven, bake for 15 minutes or until well risen and golden brown.
Serve with butter and jam.
